Why the first steps after you sit are the stiffest of your day
Your joints are fed by motion, not blood, and the fluid that feeds them has been thinning since you were thirty. A former Army physician shows you that fluid, the six-month study that thickened it, and the eighty milligrams a day the study used.

In a hurry? The short version, two minutes
If the first steps after you sit are the stiffest of your day, it is not wear and tear. Your joints have no blood supply; the cartilage drinks from a fluid inside the joint, and every step pumps it. From about thirty, your body makes less of the molecule that keeps that fluid thick, about one percent a year, so by sixty you have lost around a third of it.
Glucosamine fed the cartilage, pills calmed the swelling for an afternoon, rubs warmed the skin. None of them touched the fluid. A farming village in Japan whose people squat into their eighties sent a doctor looking for what thickens it, and a six-month study of eighty milligrams a day of a hyaluronic acid matrix found that it did, with every month better than the last.
The second half of this letter is what Dr Weis arranged about it: a formula built from that study’s dose, how and where it is made, the three ways to order, and a 180-day guarantee, any reason, empty bottles and all. A person answers 800-589-4191.

If you are past sixty, that first step has a catch in it. The knee does not want to bend all the way. By the third step it eases, and by the twelfth, about the end of a hallway, you walk like yourself again.

You will see what your joints are swimming in, and why the pill aisle that sold you glucosamine never mentioned it. And you will see the one thing a six-month study found that thickens it again.
Why an Army physician is writing to you
I spent my career as a physician to the United States Army. I ran a clinic for wounded soldiers at Fort Riley, and I was the lead primary care physician for the Army’s RESPECT-Mil program at Walter Reed. I have watched what a stiff knee does to a strong person’s spirits, and that is why I am writing this.

My friend Sarah, at the top of her stairs
Let me tell you about my friend Sarah. She is sixty-seven and lives in Arizona, and when she came to see me she was at rock bottom, in tears before she had finished her first sentence.
It started in her mid-forties, the way it starts for most people. She knelt on the floor to change her grandson’s diaper, and when she went to stand up her knees would not straighten for a few seconds.
By her early fifties, kneeling to play board games with the grandkids, her knees would crunch and grind like a sock full of broken glass. She hated the look of pity on those little faces when she grimaced getting up.
Twenty years of wedding cakes from her kitchen, and then a whisk she could not grip.Read Sarah’s story in full
For more than twenty years Sarah ran a business from her kitchen, baking wedding cakes. Then the stiffness reached her wrists and fingers. She struggled to grip the whisk and lift the trays, and a cake that used to take an afternoon took two days and left her hands aching.
Her doctor said what they all say: wear and tear, to be expected at her age. He recommended glucosamine and chondroitin, and she took them every morning for two years, because the bottle said cartilage and her knees were cartilage. Zero improvement.
She took the anti-inflammatories on the bad days. She lost weight. She stood at the top of her stairs every morning and took them one at a time.
In the end she gave up the business. It had been her identity and her independence, and it had driven a wedge between her and her husband Jack, because she could not bring in money or keep up the house, and he did not understand why.
The two years that changed nothing
Her doctor said wear and tear. She took glucosamine every morning for two years, because the bottle said cartilage and her knees were cartilage, and it changed nothing. In the end she gave up the cake business that had been her identity, and that is the Sarah who sat in front of me.
I was shocked at the despair in an old friend, and as a physician I felt duty-bound to get to the bottom of it. Remember her, because her story does not end at the top of the stairs.

But I wasn’t ready to accept that.
“My doctor was one of those talking about wear and tear, and that there wasn’t much I could do about the pain in my hips and knees. ‘This is just what happens when we get old,’ he said, with a condescending look. But I wasn’t ready to accept that.”

Sarah was partly right, and so was her doctor. Joint discomfort does involve the cartilage. The cartilage does thin, and the swelling is real.
Everything she had been told was half of the truth. But the cartilage was never the root of it.

The first thing nobody told her
The aisle sold her two years of glucosamine. The study that tested it had already been published.
The National Institutes of Health spent more than twelve million dollars on the biggest test of those pills ever run. It followed 1,583 people with knee trouble for six months, and 572 of them for two full years, glucosamine and chondroitin against a sugar pill. Over the whole group, the supplements did no better than the sugar pill. 1

And the rubs. They warm the skin. The skin is not where the trouble is.
Three things she did, and the one she never touched
So think about what she had actually done. She had fed the cartilage, and she had quieted the swelling. She had rubbed the outside.
Three things, and not one of them touched the fluid the cartilage lives in. Why would it be the fluid? Because of a study of very old knees.
What happened between your first step and your twelfth
Two thousand skeletons, and the old knees were the good ones
More than two thousand skeletons, some centuries old. The old knees were the good ones.
In 2017, two researchers at Harvard, Ian Wallace and Daniel Lieberman, measured the knees of more than two thousand skeletons. Some were from the last fifty years. Some were centuries old, and some were older than that.
If joints wore out like tires, the old skeletons should have had the worst knees. They had the best. The modern knees were the ones that had broken down, and the researchers wrote that it was not because of wear and tear. 3

So here is what happened between your first step and your twelfth, and it is not wear and tear either.
Your cartilage is a sponge with no plumbing
The cartilage on the end of your thigh bone has no blood supply. None. Think of it as a sponge, thin and firm and alive, with no plumbing of its own.
A sponge drinks from whatever it sits in. Your cartilage sits in a thick, slippery fluid sealed inside the joint. I have called it Joint Jello for twenty years, because that is what it looks like when it is healthy.
The sponge in the Joint Jello: a step squeezes it and used fluid goes out; lift the foot and fresh fluid soaks in. Six seconds, no sound. Pause. (A still picture and this caption stand in when motion is turned off.)
Every step squeezes the sponge, and used fluid goes out. Lift your foot, the sponge springs back, and fresh Joint Jello soaks in. That squeeze and release is how your cartilage eats.
Now go back to standing up
sitting stillstep onesteps two and threestep twelve
You had been in the chair forty minutes. Nothing had moved.
Step one squeezed a sponge sitting in thin, still Joint Jello.
Step two moved some. Step three moved more.
By step twelve the sponge was drinking again. You did not get younger between step one and step twelve. You got the fluid moving.
Prove it to yourself. Stand up again, walk to the end of the room and back, sit for ten seconds, and stand once more.
Nothing in your knee healed in two minutes. The Joint Jello moved. That is the whole idea, in your own two legs.
Then the fluid is thin enough that one lap did not move much. Keep reading; the study below is about exactly that.
Nothing is stored; either answer simply continues the page.
Lubricate
like oil on a hinge.
Feed
the sponge has no other food.
Shield
it keeps the proteins that cause swelling away from the cartilage, like a bubble the cartilage sits inside.
A researcher at St George’s in London called this fluid the guardian of the joints. Remember the three jobs, because whatever fixes this has to answer all three. 4

The part that is not your fault
The protective Joint Jello in your knee, and what happens to it as it thins.
What makes Joint Jello thick is a long molecule called hyaluronan. You may know it as hyaluronic acid, from skin creams. It holds the water in the fluid the way a sponge holds water.
From about age thirty, your body makes less of it. The journal Arthritis Research and Therapy put the loss at about one percent a year. At sixty, you have lost around thirty percent of your Joint Jello; at seventy, forty. 5

And you sit more than you did at thirty. Everybody does. So the pump runs less often, and what it pumps is thinner; the sponge is short-changed twice.
Grind, starve, swell
Thin Joint Jello cannot lubricate, so the joint grinds. It cannot feed, so the sponge starves. It cannot shield, so the swelling gets in.
Grind, starve, swell. That is the stiffness, the ache after the garden and the crunch on the stairs.
So the job was never to patch the cartilage. The job is to thicken the Joint Jello, and then to pump it.

An age when most of us have lost a third of our Joint Jello, and she is carrying the harvest.
Your joints are not like your tires, wearing out with every mile. If they were, these farmers would have the worst knees in Japan, and they have among the best. The second picture at the top of this page was a joint like theirs: thick Joint Jello at an age when most of us have lost a third of it.
Two dead ends before the answer
The first explanation was the diet. Their fields grew root vegetables rich in the starches the body uses to make hyaluronan, so the obvious answer was to eat the way they ate.
Dead end one, the diet
three or four purple sweet potatoes a day, every day, for months. I tried it on myself for six weeks; tired of sweet potatoes in a week, no thicker in the knees after six.
Dead end two, plain hyaluronic acid in a capsule: it reaches the body, but slowly, and most of the early studies used it for skin, not knees. Most of what you swallow never reaches the Joint Jello at all.
I had patients who could not wait that long.
Barcelona built the fluid itself, and one study changed my mind
The studies behind this formula were published in
Then a group of researchers in Barcelona did something cleverer. Instead of plain hyaluronic acid, they built a matrix of it, with the other parts of natural Joint Jello folded in, and tested it in people with knee complaints.
Over the years that matrix, called Mobilee, has been through fourteen randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind studies, which is the gold standard, and more than any other ingredient I have put in a joint formula. 7

And here is the part a six-month study can show that a six-week study cannot. They did not improve and then level off. They improved more each month than the month before: month one was the first change, and month six was the best month.
Thick Joint Jello takes time to build, and it kept building. That is why, when we get to what you can do about this, I am going to talk about six months and not thirty days.
Thicker Joint Jello, measured, and a curve that kept rising for six months. I had never seen that in one ingredient, and I have read a great many labels. The question BioDynamix asks of every ingredient before anything else: what dose did the study use?
Mobilee thickens the Joint Jello. That is the first of the three jobs, and the biggest. But the fluid does three things, and the second and third needed an answer too.
Five ingredients, four jobs
Rebuild
Mobilee, the hyaluronic acid matrix, 80 mg, the six-month study’s dose.
Guard
French maritime pine bark extract, 25 mg, the bark they found inside the knee.
Calm
boswellia, 100 mg at 65 percent boswellic acids, and ginger root, 200 mg.
Deliver
black pepper extract, 5 mg at 95 percent piperine, so the other four get through.
Rebuild and feed: the studied dose, and the part that is you
The failure was thin Joint Jello. The repair is Mobilee, eighty milligrams, the dose the six-month study used. Not a bigger number; the studied one.
The failure was a sponge sitting in still fluid, and part of that repair is you. Nothing feeds cartilage but motion, so whatever thickens the fluid still needs you to walk every day. If you will not walk, nothing in a capsule will do this for you; the other part is thicker Joint Jello, which carries more to the sponge every time you do move.
Guard: the bark they found inside the knee
The failure was swelling getting in while the fluid was thin. For that job I chose the bark of the French maritime pine, twenty-five milligrams of its extract in every capsule, and I chose it for one study above the others.
In 2017, researchers in Germany gave an extract of that same bark to patients who were weeks away from a knee replacement, and then, when the surgeons opened the knee, they sampled the Joint Jello itself. The bark’s compounds were in it. Not in the blood: in the fluid, where the guarding happens. 9

Mobilee rebuilds the Joint Jello and the pine bark guards it. That would have been a good formula. It would not have been a complete one, because of what happens while the fluid is thin.
Calm: the second switch the pills never reach
While your Joint Jello was thinning, the swelling moved in, and swelling has two switches. The pills from the aisle reach one of them, which is why they work for an afternoon and why they carry that warning.
The second switch is an enzyme in the joint the common pills do not touch, and the resin of the frankincense tree, Boswellia serrata, is one of the few things that reaches it. There are a hundred milligrams of it in every capsule, standardized to sixty-five percent boswellic acids. 10

Deliver: the smallest ingredient, and the one most formulas skip
The last ingredient is the smallest and the easiest to leave out, which is why most formulas do. Five milligrams of black pepper extract, standardized to ninety-five percent piperine, and its one job is to hold the door open.

Take any one away and see what you lose
Mobilee alone rebuilds the fluid and leaves the swelling in it for weeks. Pine bark alone guards a fluid too thin to hold it. Boswellia and ginger alone calm the swelling and leave the sponge starving, which is the pill aisle’s mistake exactly, and leave out the pepper and you absorb less of all of it.
That is the whole idea, and I want you to be able to say it back.
Your joints are fed by motion, not blood, through the Joint Jello.
The Joint Jello has been thinning one percent a year since you were thirty, which is why step one is the stiff one.

What to take from the label
Eighty milligrams of Mobilee is not a guess. It is the dose from the study that improved every month for six, and Joint Genesis gives you that dose, in that form, every morning.
What I arranged, and why
How it is made, and who makes it
Joint Genesis is made for us in the United States, in a climate-controlled facility that follows current Good Manufacturing Practices and is inspected by the FDA. It is made in small lots to order, about two thousand bottles at a time, and every ingredient is tested for purity and potency, and for toxins and contaminants, before a lot is released.
The facility, the lots and the testing, in full
Small lots cost more than running a year’s supply at once, and they are the reason this page sometimes says sold out. We do it that way because a bottle that has sat in a warehouse for two years is not the bottle I tested.
The ingredients are the ones with the papers behind them, not the cheapest version of the same name. Mobilee from Barcelona. Maritime pine bark from the French coast. A pepper extract standardized to the strength the absorption studies used. The Mobilee at the dose the six-month study used, not the dose that fits a price.
The formula is vegetarian and vegan-friendly, and free of gluten, dairy, sugar, nuts, soy, egg and shellfish, with no GMOs and no BPA in the bottle. Every amount is printed on the label, with no blend to hide behind.
BioDynamix has shipped more than a hundred and seventy-five thousand bottles of Joint Genesis through this letter’s film in the last three years. The number on every bottle, 800-589-4191, is answered by a person, and the address beside it, 1301 Ridgeview Drive in McHenry, Illinois, is where we are. If a lot is ever late, you hear it from us before you notice it yourself.

Why BioDynamix exists, in a sentence
Most supplements are built backwards, from a price, and the dose is whatever fits. We build ours forwards, from the study, and the price is whatever that costs.
That is why there are five ingredients in this bottle and not fifteen. It is why you have read the word study from me more often than the word amazing, and why I told you who this is not for. And it is why the guarantee you are about to read covers empty bottles: a company that was not sure of its formula could not afford that promise, and we can, because of how it is made.
The calendar decides the pack
In the six-month study, month one was the first change people noticed. Month three was clearly better than month one. Month six was the best of all, because thick Joint Jello is built, not switched on.
Weeks 1 to 4you may notice nothing. That is normal, and it is when the walking habit matters most.
Weeks 5 to 8keep a note of your first three steps each morning.
Weeks 9 to 12the end of the first course the research ran.
The second coursewhere the study’s curve was steepest.
So I will tell you the truth about the first days. You will probably feel nothing in the first week; that is normal, and it is the week the walking matters most. Which is why I will not sell you one bottle and wish you luck.
One bottle, three, or the six the study ran
One bottle is a test. It is the right choice if you want to hold the label in your hand first, and it is there for you.
Three bottles is one round of the course, ninety days. By the end of it you are at the point in the study where the fluid was clearly thickening.
Six bottles is the course the study ran, and the second three months were where it got better fastest. It also ships once, so you never stand in week ten with an empty bottle and two weeks to wait. That is the six months I promised to explain: not a sales figure, the length of the study.
One more reason I lean to the six
It comes from the researchers, not from me. In a second Mobilee study, published in the Mediterranean Journal of Nutrition and Metabolism, the people taking it got stronger around the knee, and their stamina and power rose against the placebo group. 13

And when both trials ended and the participants stopped taking it, the improvements stopped too, and began to go into reverse. Joint Jello is built, and it thins again when you stop building it, so the people who do best treat this the way they treat a multivitamin: breakfast, capsule, walk. 14

What is it worth?
Most people I meet have already spent more than they think: a year of glucosamine that a 1,583-person study found no better than a sugar pill, the rubs, the pills with the warning. And at the far end of that road is a knee replacement.

The price, and the three ways to order
Through this letter, one bottle is sixty-nine dollars. Three bottles are two hundred and seven dollars, sixty-nine a bottle, with the shipping on us. And the six-month course is two hundred and ninety-four dollars, which is forty-nine a bottle, about a dollar sixty a day, with the shipping on us.
Your next course ships before this one runs out, so you never stand in week ten with an empty bottle.
Ten percent off every course after this one, delivered every three or six months to match your pack.
Nothing is charged today for it; the first charge is the day the next course ships, and you get an email a week before.
Cancel any time with one call to 800-589-4191 or one click in that email. No questions.
The terms: the plan matches the pack you choose today; prices as shown on this page less ten percent; cancel before the reminder email’s date to skip a shipment; the 180-day guarantee covers every course.
What most people choose, and why
Two in every three new customers choose the six, and more than eight in ten choose the three or the six. Those are our own numbers for the year to the end of September. The second round is where people find out whether it stays in their routine, and most of them want it on the shelf before the first round ends.

That is the curve the study drew, in two people’s own words: better in month one, better still in month three.
The thing I am asked about most
We make Joint Genesis in small lots. The Mobilee comes from Barcelona and the pine bark from the Atlantic coast of France, and both are made to order. The latest lot of two thousand bottles reached our warehouse on the thirteenth of October, and the line under the pack table shows how many of them are on the shelf as you read this.
When a lot runs out there is a gap of some weeks, and the page says so. That is not a sales trick. It is the reason the page sometimes says sold out, and it is why I would rather you had the six on your shelf than three.
I am not asking you to decide today. I am asking you to take the six months the study took, and if your mornings have not changed, to call the number on the bottle and let us refund you, empty bottles and all.
My promise, in full
The 180-day promise
Here is the guarantee in full, because you have been burned before. Every package of Joint Genesis is covered for one hundred and eighty days from the day it arrives. Any reason. Even if every bottle is empty.
You call 800-589-4191 or email support@biodynamix.co, the desk confirms it on the spot, and the refund goes back to the card you paid with; most banks show it within a few business days. One length, one promise, every pack, and it is the same promise on every bottle BioDynamix makes. Choose the six and the guarantee covers all six.
Questions? Ask the desk, or call 800-589-4191; a person answers.
My word, and the desk’s: one hundred and eighty days, any reason, empty bottles and all.
Think of it the way I do, as a deposit. You put the money down, you run the six months, and if you are not glad you did, you take the deposit back. The only thing you cannot get back is the six months, which is why I would start today rather than in the spring.

Two roads from here
Let me put the two roads side by side, because you are standing at the fork now.
The first road: nothing changes
The Joint Jello keeps thinning about one percent a year, which is what the journal measured. The stairs get slower. The garden gets shorter.
The end of the first road.
The floor with the grandchildren becomes a place you watch from the chair. And at the end of that road is the operation that a nine-year study of 4,500 people found changed less than they hoped. You become, in your own eyes, the person who needs a hand up.
Month two: the bottom of the stairs, and you did not use the rail.
For a week, nothing, and I have told you why. Then one morning in month two you reach the bottom of the stairs and realize you did not use the rail. In month three you kneel on the carpet because somebody small asked you to, and you get up without the hand.
In month four you do the whole garden in one afternoon and sleep like a child.
Month four: the whole garden in one afternoon.
And by month six, the month the study’s curve was highest, something bigger has happened than any one of those.
You have stopped planning your days around your knees. You say yes to the trip. You take the stairs at the other end without looking at them first, and you walk the lake with your daughter on a Sunday and talk the whole way about something else.
One morning you stand up, take three steps, and realize you did not count them.
What happened to Sarah
After she had tried Joint Genesis herself, she called me, and she burst into tears over the phone, the way she had in my office. But these were not the same tears.
Her fingers were not locked together any more; she was baking and decorating wedding cakes again. She told me she had run up her stairs that morning, bouncing off each step, because her knees and hips were cushioned and moving again.
And she had a name for that morning. She called it her Independence Day, the day the thing that had been running her life was finally defeated, and I have used her word for it ever since.
The aisle that sold her glucosamine for two years still has it there today, at the same price, with no note. That is the thing I wanted you to see before you decide.
One last person, and then Ann, whose mornings started this letter.

Still here? The questions our desk hears most
No problem. Here they are, in the order the desk hears them, ending with the one that matters most.
How is this different from what I have tried?
Everything you tried fed the cartilage or warmed the skin. Joint Genesis thickens the fluid the cartilage lives in, with the dose a six-month study used. The cards for that study are above.
How do I take it?
One capsule a day with water, with breakfast, then walk. A bottle is thirty capsules, a month.
How soon do most people notice anything?
In the study, month one was the first change and month six the best. Some people notice earlier. Give it the course.
Are there side effects, and who should talk to their doctor first?
Most people notice nothing but the walk. If you take a blood thinner, a daily medicine for your heart or your blood pressure, or you are pregnant or nursing, show your doctor the label first.
Can I take it with my other medicines?
Show the label to your doctor or pharmacist. That is the honest answer, and it takes two minutes.
When does it arrive, and what shows on my statement?
Most orders leave the warehouse within two business days and arrive in five to seven business days in the US, up to two weeks abroad. The charge on your statement shows as CLKBANK, the company that processes our orders; if you see that name and wonder, that is us.
How do I know I can trust the company?
Joint Genesis is made for BioDynamix in a US facility that follows current Good Manufacturing Practices and is inspected by the FDA, in small lots whose ingredients are tested for purity and potency before release, and a person answers our phone at 800-589-4191. BioDynamix is at 1301 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry, Illinois, the address on every bottle. The guarantee is the proof we mean it.
Is it in stock today?
The line under the pack table shows today’s count from our warehouse. When a lot runs out the page says so until the next one lands.
Is it sold anywhere else?
Yes. BioDynamix sells it on its own store and on Amazon. Wherever you buy it, it is the same bottle from the same lots, and the guarantee is the same.
How many bottles should I order?
The study ran six months, so six is the course. The bottles keep for two years in a cool, dry place, so nothing is wasted if you order the course and take your time.
What if I miss a day?
Take the next one with breakfast as usual. Do not double up.
What if it does not work for me?
Then it costs you nothing. One hundred and eighty days, any reason, empty bottles and all. I am asking you to decide nothing today except to start. Pick your pack below.

How is this different from glucosamine?
Glucosamine fed the cartilage. Joint Genesis thickens the fluid the cartilage lives in, with the dose a six-month study used (80 mg a day of the Mobilee matrix), plus boswellia and ginger to calm swelling, pine bark to guard the fluid and black pepper so the rest is absorbed.
How do I take it, and when will I notice anything?
One small capsule a day with water and breakfast, then a walk. In the study, month one was the first change and month six the best. Some people notice earlier; give it the course.
Can I take it with my medicines?
